Peter Tarkenton

Peter Tarkenton serves as a Government Affairs Associate at Pac/West Strategies, where he provides strategic insights, expertise, and comprehensive support to meet client needs on a variety of projects. Driven by a passion for community service, Tarkenton’s commitment to making a difference is what led him to government affairs. He leverages his diverse experience across multiple sectors of U.S. politics and policy to deliver in-depth strategic guidance for the Pac/West team and its clients.

Tarkenton’s background spans both the public and private sectors, with roles in campaigning, political consulting, and legislative work. During the Val Hoyle campaign for Congress in Oregon, he honed his skills in fundraising and campaign strategy. While working in the office of Senator Amy Klobuchar, he gained invaluable experience in the operations of one of the highest-ranking members of the U.S. Senate. At FiscalNote, Tarkenton provided strategic insights on legislation and regulation to more than 40 clients with operations across all 50 states and internationally. Additionally, he has experience in marketing, Google Ads, and campaign consulting in New York City and Atlanta.

Tarkenton earned a B.S. in Political Science with minors in Legal Studies and Sports Business from the University of Oregon. His time at the university sharpened his understanding of politics and law, while also allowing him to contribute to multiple political campaigns and fundraising efforts. He remains an active member of the University of Oregon community, regularly attending alumni events in the Denver area and often traveling back to Eugene.

Outside of work, Tarkenton enjoys anything that gets him outdoors. In the winter, you will find him skiing at Winter Park, and in the spring or summer, he is often at Rockies or Nuggets games.
