Mark Truax is a renowned political strategist and communicator with more than a decade of experience across the country. As the President & CEO of Pac/West Strategies, Mark integrates his expertise in policy, politics, communications and planning to direct the overall strategy and operations of effective programs and campaigns for our clients.

From large publicly traded companies and private businesses to trade associations and advocacy groups, Mark is adept at connecting with clients from every industry. This ability to work with diverse stakeholders has led to a number of recognitions, including Denver Business Journal’s Who’s Who in both Agriculture and Energy. Whether it’s a complex communication or outreach strategy, ongoing government relations needs, or ensuring legislation is passed (or defeated), Mark has led the charge.

Mark heads strategy and implementation for Coloradans for Responsible Energy Development (CRED), a multifaceted public education campaign around oil and natural gas development. CRED has won numerous awards, including two Pollie Awards, considered the “Oscars of Political Advertising.”

Prior to starting Pac/West Strategies, Mark managed and expanded the Denver arm of Pac/West Communications, focusing specifically on oil and natural gas, agriculture, pro-business matters, and federal affairs. He also served as lead lobbyist for the Department of the Interior and the House and Senate Resources Committees on behalf of the National Association of Conservation Districts.

Mark is an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts, currently serving on the Board of Trustees of the Denver Area Council as vice president of communications and chairman of the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) Denver Chapter. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Government from Pacific University.
